I came to Fleetwood Mac 20 years after everyone else… In the late 70’s I was a punk and couldn’t possibly like someone as hyped and mainstream as Fleetwood Mac. Luckily such short-sighted bigotry in music has largely been dissolved. These days you can like what you want without fear or prejudice, (with the exception of Queen). joke.
The thing about the songs of rumours, tusk and tango in the night, is that they are all so viscerally real. Born out of anguish. They ring true, and with all artists truth is the essence of beauty, not matter how awful the beauty may be.
