Like Fleetwood Mac, I was far too cool to admit to liking Crowded House when they first had hits… but they became my band of choice when I was going through my separation years. They have the happy knack, along with elbow, of making the common place seem anthemic. Their lyrics are beautiful and the music only heightens the effect. This is not the version of fingers of love, that is my favourite, but it’s closest.
