UNDERTOW
The undertow sucks you while your sleeping,
Dreaming of the perfect wave,
Knees buckle as Baby Blue suckles,
taking your strength…
Your life-force.
Offering only a deeper ennui,
A place to settle,
A place to contemplate
The Naval scene,
Deep was in me,
Deep was silence,
Deep was darkness,
Deep was still.
And to breathe meant a subtle death,
A silent scream…
The stream washes it away,
Washes everything away,
Soul torn by the fickle thrall,
Of the depth defying undertow.
