GOOD GRIEF CHARLIE BROWN

NOT A LOT TO BE SAID FOR A GROWN MAN, FAST APPROACHING HIS 60TH YEAR ON EARTH, WHEN HE WALKS AROUND THE SUPERMARKET, SOBBING UNCONTROLLABLY, BECAUSE HE DOESN’T KNOW HOW TO SHOP FOR ONE PERSON ON HIS OWN! ALL THE TIME THINKING I SHOULD GET THIS FOR MARIE… OH NO.

THEN WHEN HE GETS TO THE CHECK-OUT AND IS RELOADING HIS BAGS, THE PHONE RINGS AND THE POLICE ARE TALKING TO HIM ABOUT IMPORTANT ISSUES REGARDING THE FORMAL IDENTIFICATION OF HIS BELOVED’S BODY, AND ALL THE QUEUE BEHIND HIM ARE GETTING ANTSY BECAUSE HE’S HOLDING THEM UP.

SO HE TELLS THE CASHIER IN A LOUD VOICE, JUST TO INFORM THE QUEUE, THAT HE WAS TALKING TO THE POLICE ABOUT THE IDENTIFICATION OF HIS PARTNER’S CORPSE, WHICH IS NOW GOING TO HAVE TO BE DONE BY DNA TESTING HER MOTHER, BECAUSE THE PICTURES HE SENT THEM DIDN’T MAKE A FORMAL ID POSSIBLE.

AND THEN HE SAID, I’M SO SORRY TO HAVE HELD YOU UP FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES. AND NOBODY KNOWS WHERE TO LOOK, AND HE CAN’T SEE THEM ANYWAY BECAUSE THE TEARS ARE WELLING UP.

SO HOW IS YOUR DAY GOING?

LIVE IN LOVE

DALE

  1. How hard it is to put on a brave face when the hurt is surfacing. Just goes to show that we should be more understanding of others. We don’t know if they are dealing with a difficult situation.
