I’ve supported Aston Villa all my life. My granddad was offered professional terms with them in the 30’s… I never miss a match. So when we finally won the Championship play off today, and got back to where we belong, it’s strange that my first thought after the final whistle was… I wish I hadn’t spent two hours twice a week watching them when I could have spent the time with my beloved. It may be mawkish, and hind sight, but it is honestly the first thing I thought.

Take time to reflect on what you spend your time doing… Is it really that important?

We are creatures of habit. Don’t let your habits overtake your love.

I’m glad we won, but not for me… but for my family, who have all been similarly “blessed” with the adoration of Aston Bloody Villa.
