One thing strikes you on arrival in Holland, the quality of the public transport in this country.
We arrived on time at Schiphol airport, and having walked miles through the airport, we found our luggage already circling the carousel. From there we walked down to information kiosk and bought three day travel passes, which work on trains, trams and buses. A short step away we found the train station, boarded a train and were in Amsterdam Centraal within twenty minutes. From there we crossed to the bus station and boarded the waiting bendy bus to volderdam. Twenty minutes later we were disembarking right outside our hotel. So from landing to being at our hotel, everything worked like clockwork . A thirty mile journey across a major city, involving two types of transport was completed in less than an hour. I love Holland!
